final monitor controller
An air traffic control specialist assigned to radar monitor the flight path of aircraft during simultaneous parallel and simultaneous close parallel ILS (instrument landing system) approach operations. Each runway is assigned a final monitor controller during these approaches. Final monitor controllers must utilize the precision runway monitor (PRM) system during simultaneous close parallel ILS approaches. See also parallel ILS approaches.
